WEATHER CAUSING HAVOC ON AREA ROAD (North Bay, ON) At this hour (8:15 a.m.) OPP North Bay and the North East Region Traffic and Marine Unit are investigating a rash of motor vehicle collisions in the North Bay, Powassan and Mattawa detachments.

At this hour (8:15 a.m.) OPP North Bay and the North East Region Traffic and Marine Unit are investigating a rash of motor vehicle collisions in the North Bay, Powassan and Mattawa detachments.

Police are currently investigating 10 motor vehicle collisions on area Highways and roads. Our first snow fall of the year is causing roadways to be slippery as snow is accumulating. Please use extra caution if you have to drive anywhere today.

THEFT AND MISCHIEF INVESTIGATED
(Powassan, ON)
Powassan OPP is investigating the theft of a Honda Generator from 2072 Highway 11, South Himsworth Township just south of Powassan. Sometime since midnight and 12 p.m. on Monday November 3rd, 2003, thieves entered a box car located on the property and made off with a 1995 Honda EM5000 Generator worth over $2,200.00. Police are probing leads.

Mattawa OPP is investigating damage to a fence at the Longslide Generation Plant located at 2923 Highway 630, Calvin Township. Police received a complaint on smashed Monday November 3rd, 2003, that vandals smashed a gate that prevents people from entering a bridge on that property. Police continue to investigate this matter.
