Traffic stop leads to impaired charge On March 6, 2016, at approximately 1 a.m.., a member of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol when he noticed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction.

On March 6, 2016, at approximately 1 a.m.., a member of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol when he noticed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction. 

The vehicle was stopped on Algonquin Avenue, North Bay, Ontario, and, upon further investigation, the driver, Kortni HARVEY, age 23, of North Bay, Ontario, was arrested and charged with Care or Control Over 80 mgs., contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on March 15, 2016.

The OPP is reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol or drug consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is operating a motor vehicle while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
