A FRIENDLY REMINDER TO BUCKLE UP

North Bay, Ont.
In the winter, police investigate more minor collisions and vehicles that slide into ditches because of constant changing driving conditions.

Many on these mishaps are low-impact collisions. Remember, a vehicle traveling at 50 km/h, a 80 kg (176 lbs) person not wearing a seat belt will strike the inside of their vehicle with the force of 2,785 kg (6,127lbs).

Imagine the impact when traveling at greater highway speeds.

Remember to wear your seat belt.
Seatbelts reduce your risk of fatal injury by 45%. 75% of people who are ejected from their vehicle die as a result of not buckling up.

North Bay OPP want to give you a friendly reminder to take the few seconds – buckle up – It can save your life and it’s the law.
