Ontario Provincial Police officers in North Bay took a unique opportunity to promote World Health Day on Wednesday April 7th, 2004 in keeping with this year’s slogan: “Road Safety Is No Accident”.

North Bay OPP, which includes North Bay, Mattawa and Powassan Detachments, checked 1,165 vehicles.
A total of six seatbelt charges, 25 speeding charges and one other traffic violation were laid in yesterday’s campaign.

There were no Impaired driving charges laid in the North Bay Cluster during the event.

“The North Bay OPP would like to thank motorists for their efforts in making our highways safe in keeping with this years slogan.”, said Constable Jason Yee, Traffic Management Officer for the North Bay, Powassan and Mattawa Detachment Cluster.
