The North Bay detachment of the O.P.P. reports a fatality yesterday afternoon. A group of six snowmobilers were on an area trail, travelling at low speeds, when a snowmobiler came around a corner and found the machine in front of him was off to the side.

Following a preliminary investigation, police believe the driver suffered a heart attack or other medical malady that caused his death that was not related to the snowmobile. An autopsy will be conducted in North Bay.

The victim, who is from Germany, has not been identified pending next-of-kin notification.
