BIG GAME HUNTERS

(North Bay, ON)
Hunters from across Ontario have arrived to our area to look for the elusive moose and shortly will be seeking success in harvesting a deer.

This means that there will be an increase activity on our highways, back roads, and on Crown land.

The OPP would like to remind the public, motorists and hunters to travel safely during this hunting season and be courteous to each other. Please be patient when traveling or walking in areas where there is an active hunt.

Area residents can expect to hear an increase in gunfire and see hunters safely carrying their firearms.
Please do not be alarmed at their presence.

Hunters, please do not trespass on private property.
The land should be clearly marked: “Private” or “No Trespassing”.
Avoid these areas or ask the landowner for permission if you must cross their land to hunt in an area.

Hunters using boats on area lakes should avoid a tragedy by wearing a proper Personal Floatation Device (P.F.D.). Please be visible wear your Hunter Orange.
