Collision under investigation
On December 7, 2015, at approximately 12 p.m., North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 17 near Dube Road, Municipality of East Ferris.
A westbound vehicle entered into the eastbound lane and collided with an eastbound vehicle.
There were three occupants in the eastbound vehicle and two in the westbound vehicle. The occupants of the eastbound vehicle had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Municipality of East Ferris Fire Department.
A passenger of the eastbound vehicle suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by North Bay Emergency Medical Services (EMS) where she was pronounced dead. All other occupants suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to hospital.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are at the scene and will be assisting with the investigation of the collision.
