Yes Employment Services held its 16th annual Yes Training Trust Fund (YTTF) awards ceremony Wednesday, April 27, 2016. This year’s keynote speaker was Nipissing University student Kelsey Morin who is a member of the Youth Advisory Group for Children’s Aid.  Kelsey provided an inspirational account of the difficulties she had to surmount in her life.  The purpose of this awards ceremony is to recognize young people who have clearly identified their career goals and have adopted short and long term plans to reach this goal. These young people have had to overcome obstacles and challenges to reach their goals.  Fundraising events are held annually to collect money for these bursaries.

At this same ceremony, two local companies were honoured for providing outstanding training or employment opportunities for our local youth:  Cecil’s Brewhouse & Kitchen and Shoppers Drug Mart Lakeshore Drive.

The John Lewis Memorial Award recognizes a non-profit that has provided meaningful volunteer placements to Yes Employment Services clients.  John Lewis, a pioneer board member of Yes Employment Services, was an exceptional community volunteer.  Nancy Lewis presented this award to Caitlin Meyers and Janet Bredin of the North Bay and District Humane Society.
