The North Bay Hand Knitters Guild will be celebrating the tenth annual Worldwide Knit in Public Day this Saturday, June 13, at the North Bay Farmers' Market, along with knitters all over the world, as part of the world's largest knitting event.
Though knitting is often thought of as old-fashioned and passé, it is actually a vibrant and thriving craft. One of the goals of Worldwide Knit in Public Day is to move knitting from the home into the public sphere: knitting is practical, social, and fun! Guild members will be on hand to answer questions about knitting and showcase their own work, but anyone is welcome to come sit and knit with the guild as we work on our projects and chat with people who are curious about knitting. Bring your chair and your knitting!
