Three projects get Fed funding

MP Jay Aspin also announces $989,375 to fund three development related projects for Northern Ontario and the North Bay region. WoodWORKS! Ontario will receive $907,875 to assist with their programming over the next three years.

WoodWORKS! Ontario will receive $907,875 to assist with their  programming over the next three years. The North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce will receive $45,000 to create and implement an investment Lead Generation system. Finally, the North Bay & District Multicultural Centre will receive $31,500 to hire an intern who will support newly established Employers’ Councils in the region.
Since its inception in 2000, the Ontario WoodWORKS! Program has helped promote the use of wood in more than 170 construction projects across Northern Ontario, create or maintain more than 470 jobs, and increase wood sales by more than $94 million.. Some examples of the success of this program in the riding include: the North Bay Regional Health Centre, Laurention Ski Hill, Temiskaming Vet Clinic, Callander Rink, Mattawa Hospital, Nipissing University Library, and One Kids Place.
