Yesterday afternoon North Bay OPP officers got a complaint of a vehicle travelling very slowly on Highway 11 in Callander.

Officers found the vehicle and watched it driving slow and weaving.

The car was stopped and officers demanded a Mandatory Roadside Screening breath sample. Roadside tests were conducted, and the driver was arrested for impaired driving. The driver blew three times the legal limit.

More tests were completed at the North Bay OPP Detachment and, as a result of the police investigation, Brenda Emmanouil, 42, of Timmins, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired - Alcohol
  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration - 80 plus, and
  • Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

Emmanouil was issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

She was released on a Promise to Appear.
