Business:

The Potters Guild is a working ceramics studio run by an artists' collective. Works by all member artists are available on site. The Guild also offers pottery classes to all ages.

Our group of potters and ceramic artists have been working and learning together for many years. Under the direct mentorship of Premier's Award Finalist and master potter, Keith Campbell, we have been challenged to improve existing skills, learn new techniques and practice many different methods.

When Canadore College ended it’s arts program in 2012, the ceramic and clay artists from the Nipissing Area were left without a home to practice their art. This unfortunate event led our  group of  artists to endeavor and seek non-profit incorporation status and obtain a dedicated studio space in downtown North Bay. We want to mentor future ceramic artists, maintain and augment the equipment necessary to produce fine ceramic works, and provide a venue for the display of fine clay art.,

Currently, we have a paid membership of  20 artists, an extensive inventory of pottery materials such as glazes and slips,  electric kilns, ten potters’ wheels and the furniture needed for the production of ceramic art. We are very thankful for the generosity of Canadore College and some local potters who have donated some of our inventory. We have confirmed a rental space in the “art district” of downtown North Bay at 128 Oak Street East.

We are also committed to educating the public in the art and production of all varieties of pottery and clay art. Grown from an educational program, we are mandated to grow the art of ceramics through year-round, summer and workshop-based educational programs. As a non-profit organization, monetary donations are always welcome.

Join us in welcoming and celebrating another new business in North Bay!
