Get ready for a long weekend of music and memories.

North Bay’s annual Summer in the Park festival will be starting July 29th and will be closing off August 2nd.

It will be taking place at the Community Waterfront Park, with bands playing on Friday and Saturday night.  Tonight, there will be four bands playing.  They include Johnny Reid, Michelle Wright, Autumn Hill and Gravitas.  On Saturday, August 1st there will be 4 more bands playing.  They include Burton Cummings, Alan Few of Glass Tiger, Stone the Radio and the Kings of Our Kin.

Summer in the Park is organized almost completely by volunteers.  Sponsors and the community are a big part of putting this festival together.

In order to enter the festival grounds, you need a wristband.  Each wristband is $50, but kids 10 and under get free admission.

There will be food vendors, produce vendors and some attractions.  Food vendors include Pizza Hut, Tim Horton’s, Beaver Tails and Free Wheelin’ Fries.  Product vendors include H.R.  Fashion, Best Buy Canada, and EdgeUKid.  There are going to be three attractions, but the most famous one will be the helicopter rides.

You can purchase your wristbands on site, in City Hall, in the Capitol Centre, some other places and online.

It is going to be lots of fun.  You don’t want to miss out.
