“STAND UP!” TRAINING AVAILABLE TO COMMUNITY IN MAY

Thanks to the “Stay on Your Feet Program” operated through the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, area residents can benefit from a FREE 12-week workshop to keep them active, flexible, and mobile. The Workshop is titled “STAND UP!” and is a way for people to maintain and contribute to their own health and well-being.

Starting the week of May 4th, a trained facilitator will lead a group of up to 16 individuals in the twice weekly workshops, to be held at the Empire Retirement Residence, located at 425 Fraser Street.

There is no cost for participating, but space is limited to 16 people, and the program is designed for those 45 to 75 years of age with a desire to keep living healthy, active lives.

The sessions involve exercise as well as information sharing; it is all aimed at improving balance, leg strength, maintaining bone density as people age, and more.
