On October 24th, the West Nipissing Police Service was dispatched to a construction site located on Leblanc Rd.  The complainant stated that he had parked his vehicle for a few days and when he returned, he noticed that someone had syphoned his gas.  It was also mentioned that other vehicles which were parked at the worksite were also syphoned gas.  There are no suspects at this time but police are still investigating.

On October 24th, officers were on general patrol and observed a male walking on Front St.  The male was unsteady on his feet and was attempting to cross the street with no consideration to the oncoming traffic.  This male was approached by police which is where the officers noticed that the suspect was extremely intoxicated.  He was arrested and brought to back to the police station where he was lodged for the night.  The next day he was released along with a Provincial Offences Notice for being intoxicated in a public place.

Another male was arrested and charged for being intoxicated in a public place after police attended a liquor establishment located on Main St.  The owner told police that they had removed someone from the property that had given them a hard time.  The male was located near the scene and was spoken to.  The officers arrested the accused and brought him back to the police station and later released.

On October 26th, a walk-in complaint was received advising police of an assault which had just occurred.  The complainant told police that her mother had assaulted her boyfriend and during the argument, the accused also damaged personal property.  The victim attempted to break up the fight which is when she got pushed back causing her to fall.  The 39 year old female was soon arrested and brought back to police headquarters where she was charged with 2 counts of assault and 1 count of mischief.  She was held in custody and later brought to bail court.

On October 27th, the West Nipissing police Service was dispatched to a camp located on Hwy 539 in the Field regarding mischief done to the property.  Upon arrival, the investigating officer concluded that unknown culprits attempted to steal batteries which were connected to solar panels but were unsuccessful.  They then broke into the main camp where they ransacked the interior and broke the patio door for no apparent reason.  It is still uncertain if anything is missing due to the fact that the owners are out of town.  Evidence was collected at the scene and police are waiting to speak with the owners to see what was taken.

Another break and enter is being investigated after a report was received on October 29th.  A cottage owner located on Promenade Du Lac called stating that someone entered his shed and stole a Minn Kota 24V trolling motor, a Stihl chainsaw and a Craftsman skill saw.  The owner told police that this incident occurred within the last week.  This investigation is still ongoing.

On October 30th, a 33 year old male now faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Restricted Weapon after a traffic stop was conducted on Nipissing St.  On October 30th, an officer observed a pick-up truck squealing its tires on Front St while exiting the Tim Horton’s parking lot.  The officer activated his emergency lights and sirens but the vehicle was not stopping.  The vehicle proceeded to turn South on Nipissing and then turned into a private parking lot.  The driver was immediately arrested and placed in a cruiser.  The vehicle was searched where suspected marijuana was located near the driver’s seat.  Also located was a pair of brass knuckles.  He was later released on a promise to Appear.
