NORTH EAST CCAC BOARD WELCOMES NEW MEMBERS FROM NORTH BAY/NIPISSING
Sudbury, ON — At its Annual General Meeting held Thursday, June 25, 2015, the North East CCAC Board of Directors elected five new but experienced Board members, each with backgrounds as diverse as the communities they will represent. The five attended their first official Board meeting this morning.
“It takes a special individual with the dedication and will to volunteer their time and service to any Board,” said Ron Farrell, North East CCAC Board Chair. “We are delighted to have attracted such skilled professionals to help us reflect and represent the people of northeastern Ontario.”
Currently the CAO of the Nipissing District Social Services Administration Board, Joseph Bradbury has significant senior level experience across the broader public sector and a strong background in health care, having served with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for 10 years. He is a recipient of the Amethyst Award, the highest award for outstanding achievement from the Province of Ontario.
A social worker by trade, Monique Rocheleau has over 20 years’ experience in both the health and social service sectors. , A former Senior Officer with the North East LHIN, Monique is currently the Associate Executive Director with the Réseau du mieux-être francophone du Nord de l’Ontario, and is a past Chair of the Board of Directors at Collège Boréal.
Maria Bozzo retired in 2009 as the Director of Service Canada in Sudbury after enjoying 35 years with the Federal Public Service. Her extensive work in the community has included serving on the Board of the Sudbury Family YMCA, and as an ex-officio member of the Sudbury Homelessness Task Force.
No stranger to the North East CCAC, former Communications Director, Kim Morris is the Dean of the School of Health Sciences at Collège Boréal. An active community volunteer, Kim also serves as President of the Réseau de Santé du Moyen-Nord de l’Ontario, a member of the Francophone Advisory Committee at Health Sciences North, and Co-Chair of the Heads of Health Sciences of Colleges Ontario.
Beverley Polowy, a retired teacher from Timmins, was a member of the North East CCAC’s inaugural Board of Directors and provided seven years of dedicated service, which culminated in a special Leadership Award in recognition of her thoughtful and steady direction and diligence. She is a past Provincial President of the Ontario Teachers’ Federation, the Retired Teachers of Ontario, and the Canadian Mental Health Association.
