OPP RESPOND TO BOATING COLLISION AT SWING BRIDGE 2015-06-19

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On June 8, 2015 at approximately 11:00 p.m. a 61 year old male was travelling to his cottage and struck the break wall near the Parry Island Swing Bridge. His twenty foot fiberglass boat struck the break wall and landed up on the break wall. There were minor non-life threatening injuries as a result of the incident.

The West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has concluded its investigation and has charged the driver, Robert ZANUSSI, 61 years of age from The Township of the Archipelago. Mr. ZANUSSI was issued Provincial Offence Notices for:

·         Operating vessel in a careless manner, without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration for other persons contrary to the Small Vessel Regulations of the Canada Shipping Act (SVR) (CSA).

·         Operating boat underway with open container of liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
