Convicted child stalker Eric Davidson Brown has had a conviction appeal turned down by an Ontario Superior Court judge. Justice Norman Karam denied the appeal Wednesday, after considering arguments made by Brown’s lawyer Yaroslav Mikitchook.

Teen loses life in snow vehicle collision

North Bay OPP have released the name the person killed in a snow machine collision which took place Tuesday night. The deceased is 18-year-old Brian Sloss, of North Bay.

Married and dangerous

A married North Bay couple has been charged with assault and weapons-related charges. The charges stem from an investigation launched Monday by the Criminal Investigations Section of the North Bay Police Service.

Assault with a phone

A 43-year-old North Bay woman has been charged following a disturbance Tuesday in a residence in the 100 block of Duke Street W. Police were called to the residence after receiving an allegation that a female had struck a male.

Fatal accident

A snow machine accident Tuesday night on Lake Nipissing close to the mouth of the Lavase River has left one person dead. A second person was sent to the North Bay General Hospital with undetermined injuries following the mishap.
