Sales of wristbands for Mattawa Voyageur Days are going "a little slower" this year according to organizer Jacques Begin, but he adds they are selling steadily and he is "quite pleased with the sales and the lineup".

Normally the festival would be sold out by now, but Begin says he's "not sure it's going to sell out" with two weeks left to go.

"When you sell out every year there's only one way to go," he chuckled.

Begin told BayToday that about 5,000 of the 7,000 wristbands had been sold.

Meanwhile, the event has added its final act.

Dry Country will provide a hard kicking high energy opening show of the Voyageur Days weekend.

The band will be opening at 6 p.m. and will compliment a Friday New Country Line Up with Tim Hicks and Brett Kissel.

Wristbands are still available from area Scotiabank and Caisse Populaire locations or by calling the Mattawa Travel
Information Centre 705 744 0222 for $40.
