The former CTV building in North Bay is transforming into a state-of-the-art virtual golf business location.

Gateway Golf Ltd is moving into the building that has been empty since the spring of 2020.

"Our facility opening at 245 Oak St E North Bay is the perfect destination for all golf enthusiasts," a social media post stated.

"With our state-of-the-art Golfzon Twovision Simulators, you can enjoy a realistic and immersive golfing experience all year round."

Officials say the facility, which BayToday has learned, will offer over 200 different virtual golf courses to play.

It will also include food and beverage services.

"Whether you are a seasoned pro or a beginner, our welcoming and friendly atmosphere is sure to make your visit to Gateway Golf Ltd an unforgettable experience," the company continued.

As for the historical building itself, in late May of 2020, CTV quietly closed its Oak St. location after more than 50 years.

In its prime in the late '90s, the building housed 55 employees in what was then Mid Canada Television/CHUR, better known as MCTV.

The newly renovated virtual golf facility is expected to open in the fall.
