Bonita Reichstein of Trout Creek is celebrating after winning the Guaranteed $1 Million Prize from the January 13, LOTTO 6/49 draw.
“I have been playing the lottery for about 30 years,” shared Bonita, while at the OLG Prize Centre to pick up her winnings.
Bonita discovered that she was a big winner while checking her numbers on OLG.ca. “I couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing, so I asked my daughter to double check my numbers. The next thing I knew the entire family was doing the happy dance in the living room,” she laughed.
Bonita took her winning ticket to the local convenience store to validate. “When I read the words ‘Big Winner’ on the customer display screen, it was confirmed that I won a million dollars,” she said. “It was just unbelievable. The next stop was to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim my prize!”
Bonita is 70 years old and has been happily married to her husband for 48 years. Together, they share one daughter and a grandson.
She is currently enjoying retirement and plans on using her winnings to enjoy life and help her family. “Winning feels amazing,” she said. “I plan on buying myself a new Buick, and a new car for my daughter as well. I also intend on helping my grandson out with his hockey tuition in the future.
“I am feeling very grateful and excited to say I won the lottery,”
The winning ticket was purchased at Shell on Fisher Street in North Bay.
