The news comes after the union expressed concern over a possible strike on Friday as talks had stalled.

Chad Evans, CEO of Ontario Northland, expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, stating, “I am very happy that a tentative agreement has been reached. Both bargaining teams put a tremendous amount of time and effort into the process. Together, they have produced an agreement that will provide stability for employees and contribute to the sustainability of the organization.”

Jeremy Rodgers, President of Unifor Local 103, emphasized the significance of the agreement in recognizing the skill, expertise, and value of their members. He said, “We worked hard for this positive outcome, and I look forward to bringing this agreement to the membership.”

No details of the agreement were released.

The tentative agreement will be presented to the union’s membership for a ratification vote.
