Reports indicate that Johnny Carson's 'Tonight Show' Sidekick Ed McMahon has died after long battle with cancer. He was 86 years old. McMahon's publicist, Howard Bragman confirmed the death with reporters.

The icon was in the UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital in Los Angeles for a bout of pneumonia.

Most famous for his role a Carson's "Tonight Show" sidekick Mcmahon was also the host of popular TV show "Star Search."

He is also the face of of the giant check presentations for the American Family Publishers sweepstakes.

McMahon also had financial issues later in life that saw his bankruptcy make international news.
