There have been two new fires confirmed in the East Fire Region for Monday, July 6.

North Bay 25 and Parry Sound 14 are both 0.1 hectares in size with no problems anticipated.

Currently there are 12 active fires in the region.

The forest fire hazard across the East Fire Region will remain low for the next couple of days.

Rainfall with possible thunder storms are expected for Tuesday, and temperatures will remain below seasonal.

Summer evenings are a great time to enjoy family and friends, and share stories around the campfire.

It is also a great opportunity to teach our future generations about fire safety.

If children are present, ensure they are not running or playing near the fire.

Keep your fire small, have a shovel and bucket of water on hand, and never leave the fire unattended.
