The Canada-Wide Science Fair is the largest extra-curricular youth activity related to science and technology in Canada, bringing together our country’s best young minds. This year more than 550 students, representing 493 projects participated in this prestigious science competition. Approximately $1,000,000.00 in prizes and scholarships were awarded.

These elite participants compete in seven “challenge” divisions and three age categories for medals and other prizes worth over $1M.

This year, Research In Motion (RIM) was the presenting sponsor at the Fair, and it should be noted that Microsoft has also pledged future support for the CWSF.

NBRSF Chair Mike Pearsall commented, “The CWSF is the Olympics of academics where students present the accomplishments of a fine tuned mind. Our North Bay students have worked very hard and their achievement at CWSF on our regional fairs 50th Anniversary is such a wonderful way to celebrate. We are very proud of their accomplishments and wish them every success in their future endeavours.”
