About a dozen business leaders, including Mayor Victor Fedeli and Chamber President Sean Lawlor, turned out to hear for the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party Leader John Tory talk at the regional economic roundtable at the Best Western Thursday.

Tory, along with Finance Critic Tim Hudak and Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller were in North Bay for the second in a series of six regional economic roundtables which offer local business owners the opportunity to talk about the current economic climate, the challenges they are facing, and what kind of help they need from the province in order to keep their doors open.

Tory said the McGuinty Government needs to take steps to give Northern Ontario's economy a boost, including providing long-term, sustainable infrastructure funding; expanding broadband access across the North; locating government jobs that service the North in the North and tax cuts.

"The people of Northern Ontario have the ideas and know-how to make this region successful. The McGuinty Liberals haven't acted and haven't listened, so we will," Tory told the group.

"This can be a place to invest and grow, once again. The Ontario we all want and need to see again is a leader, a source of opportunity and a home for the creative and the daring."
