The student group is hosting the eighth annual Take Back the Night March on Thursday, October 28. The event is an opportunity for the North Bay community to march on city streets, advocating for an end to violence against women and children.

Take Back the Night begins at the main entrance of Nipissing University at 6:30 p.m. The event will begin on campus with a march around the Education Centre’s upper residences.

A bus will depart campus at 7:10 p.m. to take participants to the Feminicity Centre at 110-112 Main Street.

Speeches will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Feminicity Centre, with the downtown portion of the Take Back the Night march beginning at 8 p.m.

Participants will march from the Feminicity Centre along Main Street to Wyld Street, to McIntyre Street, to Ferguson Street, returning to the Feminicity Centre for 8:20 p.m. for catered refreshments and live music.

Take Back the Night is a free event and all are welcome to attend.
