There’s been a break in that accident that saw a female pedestrian in her sixties being struck by the mirror of a pick-up truck earlier this winter.

It happened at approximately 7 p.m. on Monday November 24th while she was walking across the southbound lane of the crosswalk in front of the main entrance of a department store at Northgate.

She fell to the ground as a result of the collision and a concerned citizen transported her to hospital to seek medical attention for her non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver stopped briefly, before fleeing the scene, travelling south through the parking lot to the Fisher Street exit.

North Bay Police have arrested and charged a 21-year old North Bay man with fail to remain under the Criminal Code after he turned himself in yesterday.

The accused, who was not named by police, was released with a first appearance court date scheduled for Tuesday, March 3rd.
