Police say they are now reviewing video footage obtained by mall security of an accident at a Northgate Mall pedestrian crossing.

A woman using a pedestrian crosswalk at Northgate Square was hit by the mirror of a truck Monday evening around seven o'clock.

The woman, in her sixties, called police to say that she had been struck by a pick-up truck while she was walking across the southbound lane of the crosswalk in front of the main entrance of a department store.

She fell to the ground as a result of the accident.

Police say the driver stopped briefly, before fleeing the scene, travelling south through the parking lot to the Fisher Street exit and then proceeding northbound on the by-pass toward Trout Lake Road.

A helpful citizen drove the woman to hospital to seek medical attention for minor injuries.

Police ay they are looking for the driver of a light grey older model pick-up truck with a loud muffler.
