The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) released the current snow pack information for the North Bay area today as part of their Flood Forecasting and Warning Program.

"Although it remains above normal, the water content in the region's snow pack is beginning to normalize," explains Susan Brownlee, Regulations Officer for the North Bay - Mattawa Conservation Authority.

"There is still plenty of winter left, though, to increase snow depth and water content in the snow. In the meantime the public is encouraged to use extreme caution near area watercourses."

The NBMCA will continue with its bi-weekly monitoring of the snow pack throughout the winter and spring of 2009.

The NBMCA is one of 36 Conservation Authorities who are members of Conservation Ontario.
