Search warrant ends with two people facing drug charges

On April 4th 2011, members of the O.P.P. Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Drug Enforcement Unit and the West Nipissing Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a Sturgeon Falls residence.

As a result of the investigation, officers seized Cannabis marihuana and Cannabis resin with a potential street value of over $1300.00, as well as $255.00 cash and offence related property.

Two persons were arrested and charged. They were released via Promise to Appear with Officer in Charge Undertakings:


1. Brigitte COTE, age 24 yrs, of Sturgeon Falls.

• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. (Cannabis marihuana).
• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. (Cannabis resin).
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 354 of the Criminal Code.

2. Lucie BEAUDRY, age 24 yrs, of Sturgeon Falls.

• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. (Cannabis marihuana).
• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. (Cannabis resin).
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 354 of the Criminal Code.
