Ottawa – Nipissing‐Timiskaming MP Anthony Rota has been elected by his colleagues to serve as the Vice‐Chair of the Industry, Science and Technology Committee. Mr. Rota says that he is very pleased with his most recent appointment, and expressed his eagerness to tackle the responsibilities that come with the new role.

“Being Vice‐Chair of the Industry, Science & Technology Committee, will provide me with an excellent opportunity to ensure that many of the issues that matter most to my constituents are being properly addressed,” says Mr. Rota.

In particular Mr. Rota cites FedNor (which falls under the Industry portfolio), research & development, and manufacturing as three areas that are of special importance to residents in Nipissing‐Timiskaming and throughout Northern Ontario.

“I take great pride in working with my colleagues from all political parties to achieve the best possible results for the people I represent in Parliament,” says Mr. Rota. “As Vice‐Chair of the Industry, Science & Technology Committee I intend to push very hard for the advancement of regional development programs such as FedNor and promoting greater federal investment in Northern Ontario overall.”
