opp - too small!

North Bay OPP officers were conducting a RIDE Program yesterday on Highway 17 in the City of North Bay.

At 12:24 a.m., a vehicle approached and when the driver's window opened, an officer detected the odour of fresh marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest for the possession of marijuana.

The driver, Mark Harrison, 32, of East Ferris was charged with:

  •  Possession of a Schedule II Substance - Cannabis Marihuana - Under 30 grams,
  • Driving While Under Suspension, and;
  • Class G1 Licence Holder - Unaccompanied by Licenced Driver.

Harrison was issued an Appearance Notice and two Provincial Offence Notices with a date to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on October 17.

Due to the nature of the suspension, police say the vehicle Harrison was driving was also subject to a seven day vehicle impoundment.
