North Bay OPP have seized over $46,000 in cash as well as suspected cannabis marihuana during a routine traffic stop on Highway 11, north of the city on Friday, October 26th, 2007.

Shortly before midnight on Friday, October 26th, 2007, North Bay OPP officers were conducting routine R.I.D.E. stop-check on Highway 11, north of the city when a passenger in a southbound vehicle was arrested for Failing to Comply with his Undertaking. Further investigation resulted in over $46 000 in Canadian currency being seized as well as 5 grams of cannabis marihuana.

Benden James CRAWFORD, 24 years old, of Ottawa, Ontario was charged with:
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000;
• Possession of Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana – Under 30 grams; and
• Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

Ricardo DASILVA, 26 years old, of Ottawa, Ontario was charged with:
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.

Kezia NOEL, 29 years old, of Ottawa, Ontario was charged with:
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.


Noel and Dasilva were both release on a Promise to Appear with an Undertaking and Crawford was released on a Recognizance of Bail Before an Officer in Charge. All three subjects are to appear for court on December 11th, 2007 in North Bay.
