Ramsay leads Raiders charge at the Terry Fox Run

School raised $6,000 for great cause.

He may not be the fastest runner at Chippewa but when it comes to fundraising Ian Ramsay always seems to finish in first place.

The grade nine student at Chippewa raised nearly $1300 in pledges as part of Chippewa’s Terry Fox Run which took place at 1:30 p.m. today at the front of the North Bay school and went down to the waterfront and back.

“I went door to door in my neighbourhood asking if people wanted to pledge me,” stated Ramsay about his simple pitch that helped him raise the money.

Last year Ramsay was the top fundraiser pulling in close to $1200 for the cause.

"The Raider spirit and pride really shone through today, as we stepped up and kept Terry's dream alive of trying to help end the scrounge of cancer, by raising nearly $6,000," stated staff advisor Chris Cassidy.
