The details of the layoffs at Rogers radio in North Bay continue to be revealed.

On Friday, 101.9 ROCK morning personality Vicki Tyler went to social media to inform her listeners that her last day at Rogers radio will be on December 4.

"I have had a number of friends reach out, so I wanted to share my situation with you," stated Tyler via Facebook.

"I have been given the unique opportunity to continue to enjoy our mornings together until Friday, December 4.  After this date, Mitch and I will no longer be hosting the morning show on 101.9 ROCK, and I will no longer be employed by Rogers Radio.

"It has been my absolute pleasure to share your stories, join you for community events and fundraisers, and enjoy some great rock.  I will miss our listeners immensely.  Thank you for sharing your mornings with me."

Her morning show partner,  Mitch Belanger, will now become the midday host at 101.9 ROCK.

Listeners were surprised across the north last week when the usual morning personalities were replaced, unannounced, with Toronto programming, while the local station which runs CKAT, KISS 100.5 FM, and 101.9 ROCK will also be closing its newsroom.

"A small percentage of our team members across the country are leaving Rogers Sports & Media," stated Andrea Goldstein, senior director of communications with Rogers Sports and Media in an email to BayToday.

Co-host Mitch Belanger, who worked with Vicki for more than a decade on their show, will miss her.

"You never failed to put a smile on this grump's face every morning," he stated via social media.

"I will cherish the fun we've had.  You have made such an impact on our community through the awesome work you've done over the years.  Any business or organization in our community will be fortunate to have you."
