Outdoor grow op busted

Merrick Township – North Bay OPP received information of a marijuana outdoor grow in Merrick Township over the weekend. The outdoor grow was located by OPP officers in the area of Notman Road off Sand Dam Road. Over 100 marijuana plants were ferried back and forth to the road which was accessible only by ATV. The plants have an estimated street value of over $100,000.

During hunting season, hunters are more likely to be in remote location and encounter outdoor grows. Please be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to police by contacting the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Near North Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
