MCAUSLAN TOWNSHIP – On July 23, 2011 at approximately 10:40 a.m., North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) collision in the area of McConnell Lake with reports of injuries.

A group of ATV enthusiasts were riding in the McConnell Lake area when one driver lost control of his machine. The manoeuvre caused the ATV to tip forward ejecting both the driver and passenger from the ATV.

The driver, Sheldon STOLZ, 33 years old, of North Bay was airlifted to the North Bay Regional Health Centre for life threatening injuries. Tammy DESMARAIS, 37 years old, of North Bay suffered minor injuries.

Both parties were wearing their helmets and there is no indication alcohol was a factor.

Investigation is ongoing with members of the Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit.
