On-line support company to open up shop in the Bay

Opening in February at 390 Lakeshore Drive, ON-LINE SUPPORT (OLS) will immediately hire 65 Bilingual (French/English) people to staff their new in-bound operation, with plans to grow the Centre to 300 agents.

“As part of our expansion model, we are always looking for communities that have great people, positive energy and communities that want to work together in partnership to ensure success,” stated company President and CEO Ross Beattie. “We have found those qualities within the city of North Bay.”

“On behalf of North Bay City Council, I am pleased to welcome ON-LINE SUPPORT (OLS) to our community,” stated Mayor Al McDonald. “They are well known as good corporate citizens and have a demonstrated commitment to the communities where they are located. OLS offers employment opportunities for many of our youth starting out in their career paths and are supportive of our youth retention strategy.”

The Canadian Customer Care and Technical Support company first opened its door in Prince Edward Island in 1996 and now employs over 2,000 people. North Bay will be the tenth OLS site across the country and fourth in Ontario.

OLS’s reputation for their commitment to community is demonstrated through their involvement in local activities. As OLS prepares to open the North Bay site, The Gathering Place has been selected as their first benefactor.

It is wonderful to see OLS join the list of corporate supporters of North Bay’s Soup Kitchen. The Gathering Place provides a critical service in our community and we are pleased to see our new corporate citizen recognize this need with their $5,000 contribution to the local charity.
