An SUV driving down a grass embankment on the 1400 block of Seymour St. raised the curiosity of city police in the early hours this morning.

They watched as the vehicle with a British Columbia licence plate went down a grass embankment from a parking lot located off Seymour.

Shortly thereafter, police stopped the vehicle on Franklin at Seymour and arrested and charged the 26-year old male driver, of North Bay, with:

  • one count of breach of Officer in Charge undertaking.

Police also issued multiple Part III summons to the accused for the following Provincial Offences Act offences:

  • Driving while under suspension (remedial and unpaid fines);
  • Permit use of plate not authorized for vehicle;
  • Operate motor vehicle, no insurance; and
  • Drive motor vehicle, no permit.

The motorist was held in custody pending a bail hearing today.
