North Bay is one of 11 Ontario cities that will see an OPSEU "Day of Action" next Tuesday morning as the union gets ready to bargain with the Province.

"Our immediate priority is to seek remedy for the years your wages have been unjustly suppressed, through our wage reopener process. We will also be asking for you to receive the pandemic pay you deserve and should have gotten in the first place," says the OPSEU website.

"Your Bargaining Team has reached out to the employer to secure dates for the wage reopener and to discuss the process as soon as possible. We’re ready to fight for the remedy you deserve for those years, and to bargain your next contract."

The OPSEU picket line will be held March 12 between 10-11 a.m.

The union told its members that it would be a "series of coordinated actions across multiple locations."

"We're delivering our petition to MPPs offices. we're ready to send a message to the Ford government that the LCBO workers are fighting back."

Other locations include:

  • Thunder Bay
  • Hamilton
  • Mississauga
  • Windsor
  • London
  • Pickering
  • Port Hope
  • Brockville
  • Ottawa
  • Toronto

"Because of the incredible work LCBO leaders have done in recent months, we’re making plans to deliver our petition to signal we are united and ready to bargain," says the website.

The union is seeking wage improvements, pandemic pay, improvements to benefits, and classification adjustments.
