The North Bay Police Service has received several complaints from residents who report that they were left voicemail messages by an unknown man who is impersonating a police officer.

The fraudster provides a badge number but does not leave the name of a police service and aggressively threatens to arrest them if they, or their lawyers, do not call him back.

The fraudster also asks for personal information, such as social insurance numbers.

There were no victims.

The North Bay Police Service advises residents to be wary of callers who ask for personal or financial information or who make threats over the phone.
