Some good news on the COVID front as the North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit reports that there was only neo new COVID cases over the past four days.

The last update on July 30 showed 655 total cases, the same number reported in the Tuesday afternoon update. That created confusion and on its Facebook page the Unit explained, "We are reporting one individual has tested positive for COVID-19 in the Parry Sound district. A previous case has been removed from our count as it did not meet the case definition. Our case total remains at 655 and we have five active cases. Two cases have resolved."

Four of the active cases are in Nipissing, and one person remains hospitalized.

An outbreak at the North Bay Jail, now resolved, accounted for 43 cases.

The report shows 78 per cent of those 12+ with at least one shot, that's about 90,000 people, and 68 per cent are fully vaccinated.
