No driver's licence and transporting drugs make for a bad day

Driving without a licence was only one thing a driver had to worry about yesterday when he got pulled over by the OPP for speeding on Highway 400.

It was 1 a.m. when West Parry Sound OPP saw a vehicle travelling northbound on Highway 400 at a high rate of speed. As officers tried to catch up to the vehicle it sped up, but was eventually stopped.

During the stop, officers discovered drugs in the vehicle.  

As a result of the investigation,

Daniel Sealy, 28, from Barrie was charged with;

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine,
  • Possession of Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marijuana, Under 30 grams, 
  • Obstruct Peace Officer, 
  • Personation With Intent to Avoid Arrest, Prosecution or Obstruct Justice,
  • Mischief Under $5,000, 
  • Three counts of Fail To Comply With Probation Order, 
  • Careless Driving, 
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence, 

Sealy was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
