Today, the North Bay Regional Health Centre’s Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team launched the organization’s first Strategic Plan; a roadmap for the next three to five years.

“Our new plan is a culmination of input by staff, physicians, volunteers, donors, and community partners who participated in a process that included surveys, two full-day retreats and a full-day community summit attended by over 100 community stakeholders,” stated NBRHC Board Chair, Phil Geden.

“We were also able to update our mission, vision and values to reflect our organization today and in the future,” added President and CEO, Paul Heinrich. “I want to thank everyone for their efforts and look forward to working with staff, physicians and our community partners to implement this plan over the next several years.”

Nancy Jacko, VP Planning, Partnership, and Professional Practice, and Chief Nursing Executive lead the strategic planning process. “A large part of this plan focuses on working with our partners and community service providers to ensure that together we are providing the best options of care for our patients,” she explained.

The plan focuses on four strategic areas including:

1.) Access to the Right Care: Providing care for our patients today and tomorrow;

2.) Partnerships with Purpose: Together we get better;

3.) Our Staff Achieving Their Best: The right people with the right skills doing the right work; and

4.) Wise Choices: We will do our best with what we have for those who need us.
