MTO vehicle recovered on Saturday November 5th, 2006 by North Bay City Police. Investigation is continuing.

Members from the Powassan Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are currently investigating a break, enter and theft that took place overnight at the northbound Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Truck Inspection Station just south of Watson Road on Highway 11 in North Himsworth Township.

A fully marked MTO Enforcement Cruiser was stolen and remains outstanding. The vehicle is described as a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina, white in colour, green and gold stripping and with a full roof lighting system. The vehicle is decaled with the numbers 99-3057-500 on its’ sides. Also stolen was an MTO radio and orange work cover-alls.

The intentions of the thieves is not known and as such they may intend to stop motor vehicles. Should any member of the public observe this vehicle, please call the OPP at 1-800-310-1122.
