Motorcyclist charged after accident yesterday

The driver of a motorcycle involved in an accident on McIntyre St. yesterday morning has been charged by police.

North Bay Police were called to McIntyre Street East and John Street yesterday at 11:29 a.m. after calls of a collision involving a motorcycle and a van.

Following an investigation, the driver of the motorcycle was charged with “Red light – Proceed before green”.

At the time of the accident, the van was southbound on John Street and travelling through the intersection at McIntyre Street East on a green light. The motorcycle, travelling westbound on McIntyre Street East, crossed the intersection on a red light, where it was struck by the van.

The male driver of the motorcycle and his female passenger, as well as the male driver of the van, were taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
