A heated argument between a man and a woman at a small party in a West Ferris apartment back on August 6th, 2014 turned violent when the man struck the woman with a bottle.
When two male witnesses at the party stepped in to help the woman, the man used the broken bottle to strike both of them.
The three victims, all from North Bay, sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of this incident. Two victims were transported to hospital.
All the people are known to each other.
Following a North Bay Police investigation and the execution of an arrest warrant in Elliot Lake by the OPP yesterday, North Bay Police charged Matthew Richer, age 23, of Elliot Lake with:
- Three counts of assault with a weapon; and
- Three counts of breach of probation.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
