Two local paramedics employed by the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board (DNSSAB) received exemplary service medals at an awards gala on Thursday, Sept. 28.

Eric Bolduc and Tanya Bouchard of the District of Nipissing Paramedic Services were awarded the Governor General’s Emergency Medical Service Exemplary Service Medal. They are among only 110 in Ontario to receive the medal this year. The Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal recognizes professionals in the provision of pre-hospital emergency medical services to the public, who have performed their duties in an exemplary manner, characterized by good conduct, industry and efficiency.

“The DNSSAB congratulates Eric and Tanya for receiving this recognition and for their 20-plus years of service and dedication to the profession,” said DNSSAB Chair Mark King, who also recognized the paramedics during his remarks to open the fall session of DNSSAB Board meetings.

This year’s presentations were held in conjunction with the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs (OAPC) Fall Symposium, at the Blue Mountain Resort and Conference Centre.
