Drugs, guns and cash seized during hotel search warrant

In the spring of 2024, North Bay Police Street Crime Unit officers entered into an investigation into an unknown male who was trafficking illegal drugs in North Bay

These items were seized: 250.8 grams of Cocaine, 43.2 grams of Fentanyl, $8,600 in Canadian currency, 2 loaded 9mm Handguns

This spring North Bay Police Street Crime Unit officers (SCU) started an investigation into an unknown man who was trafficking drugs in the city. Through investigation, the male was dentified as Je’avon Skeete.

On May 7 at 4 p.m, the SCU and the Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a local Main Street West hotel. Two men were found inside their room, and were arrested.

As a result of the search warrant, the following items were seized:

  • 250.8 grams of cocaine,
  • 43.2 grams of Fentanyl
  • $8,600 in cash
  • 2 loaded 9mm handguns

The total value of the cash and drugs seized is approximately $48,800.

Je’Avon Skeete. 29, of Toronto, and Dantai St Louis, 27, of Brampton, are both charged with:

  • Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and Fentanyl,
  • Possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000,
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition,
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm,
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The two were held in custody for a bail hearing.
